I just wanted to add to Jose and Dennis's comments. They both have it right concerning the best way, by far, to store your cuttings. When I wrap mine this way, I roll them up as tight as possible without harming the cuttings. As I roll them in the plastic wrap, I attempt to press out as much air as possible. I'll roll them up a little, then fold the ends of the wrap up, roll them a little more then repeat until I'm done. All this info about pressing the air out and folding the ends in as you go may seem a bit obsessive. But I've had cuttings come out fresh and viable after MORE THAN A YEAR using this method. As long as they were healthy, dormant cuttings to begin with that is. If you're new to propagating figs and you're wondering what would be the best way to store your cuttings until spring, please give this storage method a try. You will save yourself a lot of heartache.

When I bring greens home from the store I typically wash them right then so they are subsequently ready to use. Then I either: 1) Throw them in a salad spinner, spin, drain and throw the whole salad spinner full of greens in the fridge or 2) Put them in a ziptop bag with a couple of paper towels. I never really 'layer' them, just fill the bag judiciously and use extra bags if I need to Greens stored this way last me several weeks easily. I've had lettuce still fresh and usable after almost a month at times. When I go out into the garden to pick things like chard I always pick more then I'll eat that night and always wash it, cut the stems off and throw the stems and leaves in a bag as above so I can have it ready to prepare a couple of nights in a row.

Bobbi, this is the eBay seller I bought a lot from. GardenWeb used to prohibit naming merchants because it was seen as a form of advertising. This is why I put asterisks in the name of the other company I mentioned. I hope rooting at this late date works out for you if you decide to try it. My last cuttings were started in mid-August and I felt I was pushing it then. They range from only having claws to having a few small leaves. It is possible to store fresh cuttings over the winter. I have read that cuttings are good for two years. The big question is how long ago were your cuttings made.
