OK. Since you're in Los Angeles, and you're thinking of buying roses now, you might consider taking a trip to Otto & Sons Nursery, up in Fillmore. (See link below.) This is a huge wholesale nursery, which is also open to the public. Take a hat, take bottled water, and pick the coolest day you can. They are in Fillmore, in INLAND Ventura County, and it's getting hot out there. They bring in each year thousands of bare roots from all over, and they pot them up, and sell them in bloom at a pretty fair price. They wholesale them to nurseries all over Southern California, and to Landscapers. They have a good selection (tho, at this time, some things will be out of stock). You can look at their lists, research the roses through this site, and also through HelpMeFind Roses: http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/index.php One caution: IT IS getting hot. Spring is behind us. These roses were "pushed" hard to bring them up for their "Rose Days" in April -- and the reason I DON'T buy them these days is that I find it takes a long time to make up for that early push. But if you want to purchase roses at this time of the year, this is likely your best option. (Many of the roses in your local nursery probably came from Otto & Sons.) Check it out. And if the pots weren't cleaned absolutely sterile your quarantine people would hang draw and quarter you, LOL. That's what you get for being a plantaholic. I've just got back from holidays. While travelling all these seeds would keep "falling" into my pockets. Of course now a lot are sprouting and I've no idea what most of them are, other than "Surprise Plants". But at least I'll have enough pots to put them in. Although, might have to back in a truck load of potting mix. By the way, the details of the pH meter are on the other thread.

What kind of care to you give it? Full sun, shade? Do you keep it dry, or water it a lot? Also what kind of temps have it seen? Was it near a heater when it was indoors? That should really help determine what the problem is. Good luck!
