Is anybody in zone 6 having a good crop?

Is anybody in zone 6 having a good crop, or were the 3 weeks of constant rain in June too devastating?

I put 13 plants in the ground at the end of May. I have fewer than 10 peppers so far, and not many more flowers.

Is anybody else having better luck?

Just 3 weeks in June, you're lucky. June as well as July (so far) has sucked here in Zone 5. I'm looking for scuba gear for my plants.

You Zone 6 people, always bragging.

LOL, just kidding. I think anyone in the NE is having a tough time this year. You are not alone my friend.

Yea, I was having an ok crop & now having an excellent one! I think that cold spell did it.

Yes, it will grow fine, based on my experience. I don't have this particular variety myself, only have Jiro and Ichi..., but my sister grows it here in 6b MD w/o any issues. The fruites usuaaly ripe about the same time as Jiro

Will Aloe grow outdoors in Zone 6, SE MICH w/ good drainage.

The species of Aloe, Aloe vera, is way too tender to be grown outdoors anywhere outside a zone 9b/10a location. As the other respondent said, the species Aloe polyphylla is probably the hardierst, and even this one is not safe outside zone 7a. If you want to summer Aloes outdoors in your climate, and bring them inside for the winter once temps drop below 35F, you can pretty much grow any Aloe you want. It is not clear what your intention is, as it sounds like you are equating Aloe vera with all Aloes, and there are only a few other Aloes that are commonly used commercially as is A. vera. Aloe ferox is also used medicinally, and is abit more hardy to cold, (but only down to 25/26F), and is much larger growing as well, so doesn't make a good candidate to bring indoors for the winter.

We had 23 days of rain in southern CT in June and the peppers were really looking sick. They're recovering now (except for the 2 that the moles ate) with many peppers and blossoms on the vine. Hope the July rains don't set them back again.

I am actually doing better than last year. I decided on growing in containers this year, which allows me to move them around easily. I have a small awning over the back door on the south side of my house. I have just enough room to tuck in my 20 containers away from the rains, but still a small enough overhang to allow full sunlight on my plants. There is a noticeable difference between the ones in containers and the ones in the fixed raised bed.

I put in about 20 plants and some are doing better than others.They're now just getting alot of flowers on them.Most have 2-3 peppers but the Tepins have a ton of peppers just starting.

Some varieties are going gang busters, while others are puttering. Flowering has out paced growth. I was busy pinching off blossome during June. My plants in continers are consistently doing better than those in the ground.

ditto for me. only a handful in the ground are doing well.

after a slow start things have improved greatly. Lots of Hot Bananas, Cherries, jalepenos and caynennes. Plants are shooting up and looking very healthy.

Still raining here. More forecast all week. Only thing that looks remotely happy is lettuce.

The chilis that I grew from seed were looking pretty sad for a long time, both containers and in ground, but they seem to be recovering well in the last week or so. Temps here in Cleveland have been cool, no higher that mid 70's during the day.
I'm starting to see lots of new growth and flower buds, so I'm hoping that my little seeds will produce something.

The plants that I bought from the store, when I lost all hope on the seedlings, are doing okay. I still haven't picked any peppers off of them, but at least there are peppers growing on those ones.

the Mohawk and Redskins are doing the best, followed by Hot Banana Peppers, Jalapenos, Sweet Banana Peppers, and then all the seedlings (which will be a big surprise because hubby moved around the pots when I was hardening off and we don't know which is which lol).

I've got lots of green tomatoes, too :) And tiny squash plants.

I am getting a great crop this year in zone 6...I think being in pots has helped alot even though I never moved them out of the rain.
