You're only limited by what's convenient for you. They root very readily, no matter what size.

SO glad to find this post! I'm really struggling; didn't catch this on the plan or I would have changed it. We've framed: - a 4' wide, 9.5' long walk-in shower - on each end is doorless opening of 2' wide - there is a 5.5' to-ceiling panel betwn the openings * on the side of this "wall" facing into the main area of bathrm I will do some sort of glass tile and the tub will be there, forming a "T" with the shower itself. So I have a rectangle that's much too long, and am concerned about showerhead placement. DH thinks if I put a showerhead on each end, there will be water splashing out the 2' walk-in. Independent of the decision, we'll likely install Kohler 8030 in-ceiling rainshower panel (I've heard great things from users) in center of shower. But if that's the ONLY showerhead, you're walking to either end to get shampoo, etc. from inset shelves! FYI, I've always planned to put a basic handheld mounted on the 5.5' center wall, facing the back, of course. I know I'm over-explaining, and I apologize, but I REALLY don't want shower doors and DH is convinced that's the only way I can mount a showerhead on each end of shower, since we didn't plan ahead and at least have a 5-8" piece come in from corner of shower before the 2' walk-in. Does anyone have any experience w/a shower this large, or advice on how the showerheads would perform if mounted on each end? For those who have read this far, I greatly appreciate it!

Etznab, thanks. I had been using straight white vinegar. I didn't know a 3:1 solution of water to vinegar would work, too. jaymielo, thanks for the link. I had intended to buy that mineral oil/beeswax product but haven't gotten around to it yet. It's now on the to-do list. Cooperbailey, I'm all for making the mix myself, but a local search for beeswax where I live turned up NADA. If I have to buy it on-line and pay shipping, maybe it's just as easy to buy a finished product. Oruboris, I do have a 1/2-inch thick white poly cutting board that I use for meat/poultry/fish. I wash it in the DW and occasionally bleach it in the sink. I intend to keep on with this practice, but I am looking for new poly boards in different colors for each of these three categories. We added an addition and converted a half bath into a master bath suite and we love it. Our shower is huge. 5x7. We have floor to ceiling glass, hinged door with a transom over it. Although it is not a steam shower we waterproofed it as such and tiled the ceiling. The important thing we did is to put the on/off controls on the opposite wall of the shower heads. Otherwise we would get wet and cold. The shower is plenty warm and not drafty with the door closed and the transom open. However, when the door is opened you can feel the temperature change. The shower is plenty large for 2 people. In fact, I think it would be fine for 2 if it was 4x6. We opted to get a teak bench. We like the flexibility to move it around. We also went for a full length niche. Once we completed this. We had our main bath redone. We did not have the space or money to indulge in a large shower. We took out the tub and replaced it with a shower. The location of the bathroom door concerned us that if we moved the shower out more, our teenage boys might swing it open to hard and hit the glass shower door. The shower is 33" x 60". We panicked that it was too small, but it was too late. We put in a full length niche that is perfect for extra elbow room. I do think that 3 inches wider would have been better. It would have been thousands more to move walls, pocket doors, electric , moving pipes ect. Besides myself and my husband don't use it. Just like our shower, we put in a rainhead. Both boys just use this and not the showerhead. The pictures of the smaller bath are dark, but it is light and airy in reality. It has a beachy feel and we love our drain cover and glazzio glass bubbles on the floor.
