First major pepper harvest of the year!

Here is my first flush of peppers for the year! clockwise from top: Santaka Japanese, 7 Pot, odd yellow variation of the santaka peppers, Orange Thai, and Serrano Tampiqueno.

Im starting to get a bunch more bugs but im hesitant to spray with insecticidal soap because I dont want to alter the flavor of the peppers. Ive sprayed a few times already and it really knocks the bugs back, but now my plants are huge and loaded with pods and Im not sure if I should spray or not. The peppers taste so good its a religious experience eating them. I dont want to mess anything up. Does anyone have any experience with pods being sprayed with soap? Wouldnt it affect the flavor? Soap tastes nasty!
