I have both named seedlings and many unknown Thai mixed seedlings all at least a year old. If I decided to take on any more seedlings, I would only be looking for named varieties.

I have never tried shipping seedlings before. Are they much trouble?

Seedlings can be safely shipped-its all in the 'packaging'..Here's how I pack mine for mailing:

Most of my seedlings were started hydroponically in plastic cups, I usually leave them in these for mailing. First, I cut thin cardboard (ie cereal box), making it large enough to wrap around the cup and cover the entire height of the cup and seedling.... Before wrapping, gently place tissue paper or paper towel into cup around the stem (this keeps soil intact)then put seedling cup into plastic bag large enough to cover top of seedling. Now wrap with cardboard and secure with tape.
You can also remove seedling from container-just be sure to leave some original soil around rootball- wrap cellophane around rootball/soil. 'Loosely' wrap cellophane around stem -if leaves are large, gently fold them upward before wrapping (they should spring back into place once unpacked). Cut length of a paper towel roll and wrap it around seedling (if seedlings are too large for paper towel roll, use cut cardboard method above.

With this method, even if you must lay them on their side to fit in the box, they'll still arrive safely. Trust me, the post office doesn't pay much attention to 'This Side Up' stamped all over a box either, so there's not much point in making a fuss to pack seedlings upright in the box. Just pack it tightly enough that the contents won't bounce around during travel.
I use this method with all plant seedlings, not just plumeria. Its just the same basic tactics plant mail order companies use, but without the expensive packing supplies.
*Its best NOT to moisten Plumeria seedlings before mailing.

HI, Just to tell you a little about the seedlings I have.
Here's the names of the seedlings that I will be swapping.
Plastic Pink, Brittany, Abigail, Thai Mystery,Franscoise.
I purchase the seeds from Brad's Buds & Bloom.
I started the seedling back in March on a Heat Mat in plastic
soda bottles, which I cut in half and used the top as a dome.
Now my seedling are plated in 1/2 gal pots.

Well, it looks like there's only three of us showing interest, so let's just swap amongst ourselves....

Since its just us three, the rules can change a little:
Still a two item minimum, but......
We can trade other plants also-not just Plumerias, so if you have other trades available, list those as well....
Please post a list of all of your haves- include sizes if possible (ie. 1 red cutting -12+"). This way everyone has a good idea of what we're trading for.
Postage can still be First Class but must have a delivery confirmation.
No longer has to be 'cutting for cutting' or 'seedling for seedling' etc, but both parties must agree on what's traded for what before trades are mailed.
Trades should be mailed within 3 days of trade agreement, and post on forum with confirmaion number. Trades should be made and mailed by August 13th...this gives us two weeks to work out and mail our trades...

Remember, the object here is to be fair, have fun and make new friends while sharing our extra babies with others...

Hi-I'm new to the forum, but definately interested in a swap.
I have newly sprouted seeds (probably about 10 days old), 2 seedlings-all of whom are a mystery to me (they came from a seed pod that a friend gave me) and I can take cuttings from the following:
(unnamed) pinks (various shades); yellow with white tips and white. I also have the following named trees:
Hausten White; Slaughter Pink; Sunset. I have a Textured Tri-Color, but the cutting would only be about 3-4 inches long this year.

My Sunset is a white flower, narrow petals, and a slightly yellow center. The back, however has a slight pink stripe to it that my DH says bleeds thru to the front.. Let me see if I can upload a photo for you. My bonus son & I think it smells slightly peppermint-y.
p.s. my Nebel's Rainbow bloomed yesterday for the first time this season. YEAH!!

Congrats on the NR blooms!!! I have a NR cutting I rooted-so far no blooms though. I also have NR seedlings that recently sprouted.....gotta long wait for blooms on those!

I can't say I've smelled a peppermint scented plumie before- interesting...

BTW, do you have an mail address that you can link to your G'web member's page? It would make contacting you much easier.....

Hello! Are you guys still doing the Plumeria swap? I have a bunch of Yellow Plumeria that I would love to swap for other colors. I am so sorry, but I do not know the exact name of it, but the flowers are about 3" in Diameter and yellow with slight pink in the middle and are VERY fragrent! I have quiet a few clippings - about 12" each. I would love to get other clippings - any color. Please let me know. Thank you.
