Interesting Observation

Last year I grew bhut jolokia that took an insanely long time to grow fruit. When it did the fruit was not at all hot - at least not even on the level w/ habaneros. This year I am growing bhut jolokia again from different seed source.

One thing I notice immediately is the difference in the texture of the seedlings growing this year than last year.

This years seedlings have a weird delicate leave - almost a crumply leave. Last years peppers had a leave that was strong and very much the texture of chiltepin, so very different. This years is almost velvety.

I'm wondering if last year I had crossed seed.

We'll see when this years plants produce fruit and taste testing begins!
