my pygmy palms got hit hard this year by the frost, some more then others, but they are starting to recover slowly. i think every winter since we have put them in, they always get some frost damage and it does take a while for new fronds to replace the damaged ones. since the damage was so extensive this time, i do not think they will look great again until next year (if we do not have another hard freeze). i know some people in our neighborhood have already ripped out their damaged pygmy palms and have replaced them with new ones. i am going to be patient and just wait it out since our palms are pretty large now. give them a little more time. how established were your palms before the freeze?

By legs you probably mean trunks . Robelinini palms are commonly grown together with multiple trunks. They are seperate plants though. Dead trunks can be cut down to ground level without affecting other plants. Trunks that have died last year should be cut down. Wait till summer to see if this years trunks are dead. I also sugest you fertelize them to get good growth after being damged.

Looks like too much heat and not enough water. If it had been grown in less then full sun,then its also adapting to that with old fronds burning. Water more,and see if the new flush of fronds is greener. If so-home free! Also,If your in a Sunset desert zone or a hot inland soucal valley-it will always need some shade to look best.

Stop wetting the leaves⦠good way to rot these palms. Only water leaves in warm summer weather (if at all)⦠otherwise water runs down into the bud area and fungus grows- bad news! Don't fertilize indoor palms⦠except MAYBE once every several years. Once you move the palm back outside and the weather's nice and warm and sunny, THEN is a good time to fertilize. And if potted ONLY use liquid, well-diluted fertilizer. The cut fronds will not affect your plant in any way, other that looking a bit off balance for a while.
