Transplanting a Majesty palm

gardeniarose

I have a Majesty palm that is about 5 years old and 8' tall. It has spent its entire life in the ground, inside my screened in patio...(not my doing). It is now starting to touch the roof of the screen...so my question: can this tree be uprooted and transplanted without being killed? If so, what is the best way to go about doing this? It is so firmly rooted in the ground that it feels like it is embedded in cement. I really would like to save it because it is so beautiful and healthy, it just never should have been planted inside a screen enclosure. Thanks in advance.
