It looks like, some kind of fungus infection. Give them some fungicide.

Nope, have not ruled out anything yet. I got some fungicide and noticed it mentions mites on it, so hopefully whatever is going on with my little babies it will take care of it. Put all the ones that are looking sickly in their own little area and gave them a good misting with the fungicide. Keeping all fingers, toes, and other body parts crossed.

I'm thinking white flies. Do you see any very tiny white specks on the underside of the leaves. I see some white specks in the picture.

Lauri, oh dear, your little seedlings look in a bad way, I hope you can cure them. Hard to tell from pics exactly what's going on. S/mites are hard to spot but make very fine webbing under the leaf. I find they are the very devil to get rid of. Make sure you spray from every angle, especially on the undersides of the leaves as s/mites & w/fly tend to hide there. Which seedlings are they? Hope they're not from some super-duper irreplaceable expensive seeds, that would be a bummer : ¬ (

That looks a lot like spider mite damage to me too, the speckled discoloration. Have you tried wiping down the leaves, top and underneath, with cotton balls soaked in diluted rubbing alcohol? I stay away from insecticides. The seedlings do look pretty sorry but I think they also look salvagable. Good luck.

I haven't tried wiping them down yet. I most certainly will this afternoon. I've been spraying them with the fungicide but it doesn't seem to be doing any good, however I'm sure it is probably too soon to tell.
And thankfully they are not from super-duper irriplaceble expensive seeds! But they're still my babies.

My little seedlings don't seem to be getting any better. I have used the fungicide and I have used an alchohol and water blend. I've looked close to see any bugs or webs of any kind but can't see any. Here's a few pics of one of the leaves.

Can't remember where you live, but I suspect some heat and humidity will kick them into gear. Are they outdoors or in? What are you temps and humidity? I've had plummies defoliate after applying fungicide or harsh pesticides -- especially in full sun, so be careful. Reduce watering a bit if they drop too many leaves. Since they're small, I'd just wipe leaves carefully with wet paper towel. Mist foliage with water every few days to discourage mites. Keep 'em warm and they should start to take off.

Looks like you had been overwatering them. Plummies hate wet feet. They need to dry a bit then water them thoroughly. I use a solution of half water half rubbing alcohol for pest.

Maybe the best thing to do at this point is nothing. Just pick off the badly damaged leaves, put them outside in morning sun and ignore them. Maybe they've had too much TLC. I hope they recover.

Thanks a bunch. I will do all that. Have been picking off the bad leaves. I am in FL and they are all outdoors. They are in the back of the house on the porch. Today I noticed one of the larger ones in the front have the same look on the leaves. So maybe too much watering. It has been raining a lot here lately so will put them undercover. Thanks for your thoughts and words of incouragement.

Hi Laurie - if it will make you feel a little bit better...at least your plumies have leaves. I honestly don't remember the age of mine, but look at it, it is so ugly and it's still alive. I still want to give it a chance because it can turn around and produce leaves and branch like the last picture.

Kasie that plant certainly looks like it got hit hard with the ugly stick. lol If it gives you flowers you won't be looking at the stem anyway.

My goodness Kasie, Those do look quite sad. Thankfully though they are still living, and hopefully they will give you flowers that outshine their stems.
