Wow! Beautiful flowers, Pat! Congrats!
How did you get your cutting to flower so soon :-) The big JM "Y" center cut you sent me hasn't shown leaves yet, but I see bumps (maybe the leaves will come out of those bumps). But the Sariah's Curly Pink cutting has pushed out 3 clumps of small leaves near the top, looks like a 4th on eis on its way. Yay! (Thank you!)That was really fast considering I potted it on 04/23/11. I think the size of the cuttings really makes the difference, as I noticed the smaller cuttings seem to take forever to show any progress.

That photo is absolutely beautiful! The colors are so vibrant and the leaves look extremely healthy.

I'm Italian and from NJ......here is my take on it: Melissa is a BIG troublemaker. In our family, I am the sister in law, I would NEVER allow my DH to not speak to any of his family, just because I had a falling out with them, and trust me it HAS happened. To me it looks like Melissa and her sisters are a little pack egging Joe (teresa's brother) on. Teresa went over to her brother and SIL to congratulate them, and they were HORRIBLE to her. I am NOT a fan of Teresa either, her excessive spending and spoiling she does w/ her kids annoy me, but she was clearly being the bigger person there. Her brother was drunk and ruined his own son's christening by reacting to his sister that way. Melissa's sister should have kept her mouth shut, how do you say to the Aunt of the child being christened you were invited on a technicality. Clearly they all exhibited a lot of class right there. I can't believe Melissa and Joe are expecting an apology. Disclaimer: In NJ, we do not all have larger than life christenings, homes, cars and hair- even if we are Italian.

Ditto newhostalady's comment. Living in southern New England and with most of my named hostas planted on the north side of my property, I don't expect to see signs of life for several more weeks. My house faces east; there are hostas planted in front, and on the north side, of the house. They're all thriving altho' the deer chomped my 'Empress Wu' down the first year it was planted. Last year I was amazed to see it coming up again--evidently the deer didn't get the roots. Woo hoo!! Tiddisolo - I purposely didn't plant any hostas on the south side of my little green acre since it gets full sun. Instead I planted perennials that thrive in full sun that also sustain pollinators (bees, butterflies & hummingbirds) such as Caryopteris/blue mist shrub, Echinacea, rose of Sharon, Gaillardia/blanket flower, Baptisia/false indigo, Buddleia/butterfly bush, Platycodon/balloon flower, etc.

thanks y'all. We have had incredible heat and drought this spring. That may account for the early blooms. I'd gladly trade for cooler moist weather. 1st week of Jun broke temp records 6 of 7 days. Worste drought on record. Worse than the "Dust Bowl" times. Penang Peach is loaded with buds as is White Pinwheel.

But the plumies love the heat!
The temperature in my area has been in the seventies, and I have a lot of inflos and some of my plants do have flowers (Sparkle, Divine, Celadine, Samoan Fluff, Pacific Pearl, Gulfstream, California Sunset, but I think I won't get spectacular colors like yours until we get more heat, which may be another month or two!

Hi Pat!!!

Remember the potted Aztec Gold plant and cutting you gave me a few years ago (we met up at your workplace off Beltway 8...), well they are now huge and in full bloom!!! And smell wonderful!!! Thanks again!!!!

P.S. Yes, it has been a VERY Hot & DRY year!!!!!!! A real scorcher!!!

What a great inflo! I don't think of Houston as droughty. Always seems to be just hot and humid, humid. Unusual weather, but really good to get plumies going in the Spring!

My Jeannie Moragne, Jr, has an inflo. Hope it turns out as nice as yours. This variety seems to be a tall grower. Is yours?
