Anyone know when the PSA Sale will be in Katy?

The PSA website hasn't been updated yet, but last year's sale was in late July. Emailing them for info has not gotten any responses. Does anybody know when the sale will be in Katy, Texas?

I guess its not for a while. I have a vague recollection of one being during the middle of September.

I was out of town for the Seabrook sale but Amanda went and bought me a Duke, JL Pink Pansy, Elizabeth Thornton and THorntons Mardi gras. Her dad got a Slaughter Pink and Thornton Lemondrop which I will help myself to a cutting at a future date. I am converting my in-laws into plumeria growers.

I'm sure you saw the Corpus Christi 23 July plant sale on the PSA website. The details are nonexistant. If details get posted I might take a chance on it. At the least I'll come back with some blue crab to boil. Anyone on here part of the Plumeria Society of South Texas that can share details?

Nice haul, K! I couldn't go to Seabrook but Katy is doable, IF I can ever find out when it is. Corpus is out of the question for me, but you'll probably enjoy yourself there. They seem to be a fairly active group. And, of course, there's the incomparable shrimp and crab!

Hello Everyone, K, Sounds like you have a great collection with your new additions... SO..? I need to ask? Ammmhmmm... How many did you trip when you burst thru the doors? Really? LMAO!!! I want to go shopping with you to this sale next year. I know you are one guy that "gets it" LOL...So. Congratulations fom all of us ladies that would love to have a DH just like you!!! LOL... I know you mean well, but would you really do that? : ) Don't worry, i know the truth!!! I watched the security at the show...LOLOLOLO!!! Nice moves... " ) Joan, I like your list too! Jen, How is the new TLD? Is it what you wanted? Did K help you? or did he pick up yours!! You have a great sense of humor K...We all love to mess with you!!! It is nice to have one of the guys right in the middle of all of those women. You are brave!!! I cant wait to see all of the pics... I was out in Indiana at a family reunion, learning about plowing, cows and how to drive a huge Case Tractor. I will say the i can drive those huge babies and i had a ball.. SO Dave P... I can do this even with nails... LOL... The farmers were quite impressed!!! LOL. I even drove a John Deere with all of the equipment spraying Nitrogen on the corn... Hi Barbra, I can relate to your story but I think we all could at one point. We all started as beginners and learned from our losses. Before I went to Florida, I was made aware of the inpending heat spell that was coming our way. The only preparations I could think of making was moving my freshly rooted cuttings back indoors out of the way of the intense heat. I knew we were going to be gone for 10 days. Now, the larger plumeria with large rootballs, I pretty much left them where they were. Many were on my conrete side walk but here in western NY, I can usually do that without harming my plumerias. Average temps even in August rarely exceed the high 80's..sometimes we will hit the 90's. While we were gone though, temps soared into the high 80's and low 90's. I did have a neighbor that was watering for me, I have to say I was hesitant to have anyone water but if it wasn't for him, I think my plumeria on the concrete would have croaked. In fact my large white 'Pyshco'(which BTW..is one of my larger plumerias), even began to pucker! Sadly, I did lose a few plumerias, and with the exception of a few, the rest were all well established trees that I rooted from last year! They just couldn't handle the intense sun that they recieved while I was gone. Even the trees that didn't die on me, some had soft spots, all of which recovered fully. Barbra I really feel for you. Not sure if I have any of the plumeria you lost but email me, I may be able to help you replace some of what you lost. You have been so kind and generous to me, I would love to return the favor! I wanted to let every know what I bought home beside my Wildfire. I also bought a penang peach 14 inches tall, with 3 tiny tips, and a Bill Moragne, 20 inches 1 tip, both are 1 inch thick. K bought 4 plants, all I remember is that his California Sally, was as thick as a log. He got some really nice plants to add to his collection. We got to meet Nancy and Emerson, and Tex. We got to visit with Joan, who introduced me to Ivysmom. I got to meet everyone that I wanted to, and I don't think I even needed those feathers. It was a great day. Barbra

Tally, Allene just got a newletter that all South Texas Plumeria members received I think it was in April. Nothing was put out there for the public until July. I don't even know if they will list of available plants. I don't think they advertise, I think its more for the locals, which could be good for us. I won't know anything until Saturday when I get there. I do know I have seen what Frank and John have in their backyards, they have 60 or more named plumeria plants growing in their front, back and side yards. Allene said it will be smaller than the Clear Lake Sale, I think it will be more like the one this past saturday. I will check to see if it is always the 3rd saturday of July, if it is. Next year if you can get off, come down on Thursday or Friday, stay with me in Rockport and we can drive down together Saturday morning, its only 30 minute drive to Corpus. Afterwards we can walk thru my yard and you can see if I have anything you want. Be sure and bring dirt I have pots. I think they will some diffrent named plumeria than what we saw this past weekend. I traded plants for seedlings from Larry, mine are almost 2 yrs old I think I will have to wait another 2 yrs to see blooms. Barbra

Saturday, August 13th is when the PSA has the Merrell Center in Katy reserved. 6301 South Stadium Lane 77494. Probably from 9am-3pm. Scroll down the "Upcoming Events" bar on the link and you'll see it.

Laura, if you decide to come down for it, let me know and I'll meet you there.

We also know how to pack in rollerboards on planes too!

I still cant believe the amount of cuttings that i brought back across the coast..lmoa...i kno im addicted...

I can put a cutting anywhere.... : ) lol!!!!

U should have seen the faces of people as i passed thru the aisles...i just smiled and kept on going....

Heaven help me if I need a truck to haul home plants from this sale! Come to think of it, though, it would be nice to have a larger plant than all my little two-footers. If I stick with the rule that "if it doesn't fit in my car then I can't have it" I should be okay.

Laura, it would great to see you if you can go but I understand it's a long trip for just one day's shopping. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures for those who can't be there.
