Have you got both giant swallowtail eggs and cats on the leaves? The only thing I can think of for you to do is gently wash them off, although don't white flies just come and go? When I lived on the coast and had citrus trees, I got some white flies, too, and they made the same black sooty stuff that they leave on gardenia leaves. Happily for me, since I've lived up here, just north of Wiggins, I haven't had any white flies or sooty mold on my gardenias or citrus. I have no idea why, I certainly don't spray. Sherry

Could also be mealybugs, which are more commonly found when the citrus is on vacation inside. Do a search on both of those insects to compare with what you have. OR take pictures to let us see for ourselves. We love 'show and tell'. Losing lots of leaves and immature fruit is, unfortunately, more common than not. Unless you can provide the high light and high humidity of the outdoor environment, the transition from outdoors to indoors can be brutal.

Flowers of different plant species are adapted for different pollinators. Honeybees are generalists, and visit many different kinds of flowers (but only those that offer a significant reward). As fireduck said, if there is something better nearby, the bees will choose that. They also tend to focus on one thing exclusively at a time too. Avocado flowers are certainly not classic bee-pollinated flowers, and are known to be pollinated by a multitude of other insects, as well as the wind. Just remember: honeybees are not the best pollinators by any means, only abundant and easy to manage. Personally, I would be more concerned about having another avocado of a different flower type nearby to pollinate your fuerte. If there are other trees in the neighborhood, you're probably fine, but avocados are definitely self-infertile and have a complex pollination biology (basically male and female parts on the same tree are viable at different times of day to avoid self-crossing, and trees fall into 3 flower type groups that have to be matched up so pollen from one type is viable at the same time the stigma of another is receptive).
