I think your tree will be fine during your absence; maybe lower the temp a little, but not more than 5 degrees. The misting is not so important except for controlling dust which mites love. I can't tell the size of your dead branch; but it looks pretty small. Branches that size most often die back from getting too dry, or too hot (from sun, lights, etc); if you pruned it back to the nearest leaf node that is green, you have done what you can. If you want to worry some about your plant while you are gone, I guess it won't hurt anything; but it won't help either. Enjoy your trip

Flourescents don't give the full spectrum of light that the sun does. I've had moderate success with very small seedlings, but too long under it and they get all stretched out. You can buy flourescent grow bulbs for some lights that work better. Personally I think the only lights worth while are HPS if you're actually going to grow them indoors for any amount of time. They are quite expensive though. Stick with a windowsill, preferably south facing.

For those of you who have Miele induction, do you by chance also have a Miele oven? I am leaning toward either the Miele or GE induction..but I do like the individual timers on the Miele and the stop and return feature if you have to step away. I like the price on the GE! I'm also leaning toward the Miele Combi Steam oven and will need a 30" regular convection oven too--but not sure if another Miele is the way to go. Would love input.

@fortyseven_gw Hi Joanne. I'm going to leave the blooms on for just a little longer, as the leaves are starting to feel a lot better than before (they still need a little more time to recover, but they're doing better). If their condition worsens, or they just aren't making progress, I'll remove the blooms. I'm just not ready to part with them if the plant can possibly recover with them:( I've missed the spark of color they bring in, and they're growing quite fast already! @Rosie Wonderful! I took your advice on opening the bag and I feel it's good for the plants to get this fresh air! Yesterday, I left them open from dinner time to when I went to sleep. Left them closed while I slept, all morning, and for most of the afternoon. Just opened them and will probably leave them open until late evening/night time (or until I go to bed) depending on how the leaves feel.
