My Bhut Jolokia, Chocolate Habanero, and Black Pearl Pepper Grow

I have been keeping a grow log. This is the first time I have been using a Bubbleponic system, and I have been changing the solution/water about every week to week and a half. I am using the General Hydroponics 3 part solution series.(GRO, MICRO, BLOOM) I have also been using distilled water and making sure I keep the PH between 5.8-6.4. This 6 pod system has 2-225w LEDS (75% Red, 25% Blue mixed) about 18 inches above, and also a GE33W Plant BrightStick above which adds some heat and brightness. I have the wall behind covered in 2m mylar, and have a mylar curtain so the plants are about 70% surrounded my mylar, 15% white wall, and the other next to another bubbler system. This thread has come a long way ; The year was 2008. Bruce (esox07) and edymnion are two of the three familiar names to me. I, myself, was not then growing anything with more heat than Habanero. The topic ( Bhut best growing conditions ) has covered just about any issue about growing chili peppers, from seeds source, germination, growing under lights, potting soil,.. ..you name it. Bhut Jolokia is on my grow list in the future. Most people who have grown it , have described it as one of the tastiest super hots. Good reading stuff here. Seysonn

They seem to be super rare because I can't find them other than from neil's hippyseedco in australia" Hi acce, First of all, I've read literally thousands of posts over the years, and I have yet to read one that had anything bad to say about Neil and The Hippy Seed Company. He is a class act when it comes seeds, sauces, etc. Also, keep in mind the pricing on his website is AUD. It's a little cheaper USD (currently anyway lol). Another recommended source is Dave Stehnike (of Dave's Dragon Dust fame). He sells on eBay under the id of AsiasGarden. At one point this year, he was selling a combination offer of Red, Yellow and Chocolate Bhut seeds. I don't know if he has any more. As I recall, I think Neil may have gotten his original seed stock from Dave, but I could have that backwards, or be completely wrong. Bhut Jolokia is a C.Chinense not a Habanero. Both are C.Chinense. As far as heat goes I'd say some 7 pots are the hottest then Bhut Jolokia and the Nagas easily. Tepins aren't even in the Super Hot Ballpark. Some Chacoense and Praetermissums are sold by seed venders on the net. I'm growing several wilds this season and might be able to trade seeds later this fall/end of harvest. If things go well for my plants. C.Eximum , Charipita , several different Chacoense,Praetermissum,Ulupica , Galopagoense , cardenasii , lanceolatum , rhomboideum , microcarpum and several wild Bird Peppers,Tepins,Pequins. Also working on several varieties and strains of Bhut/Bih Jolokia , Nagas , Trinidad Scorpions and 7Pots. Hopefully I'll have a Super Hot summers end.

Looks good, I am also growing Bhuts and Black Pearl (both for the first time) and orange habs. Not hydroponic though. My black pearls right now are smaller than yours but they're already showing dark purple foliage (only the new growth is green). I harvested the BP seeds from some plants I found growing at a city park last year...I thought they tasted good (hope they weren't sprayed too much! lol) so I saved some and then ID'ed the peppers using Google and this forum.

I have all 3 peppers too, except my habanero is called Jamaican Hot
Chocolate. They are probably the same, both brown. Why do you
grow them in bubbleponic system? Is it for people with no yards?
Seems like a lot of work. Not trying to be critical, just wondering.
Your plants do look good.

I am growing them inside because i live in an apartment. Last year I tried to grow them in pots on my deck, but they never fruited.
Thanks for posting the pictures. I have been updating that blog once a week with pictures, and I will until it is done. I couldnt find anyone with a beginning to end log with pics.
