Using a product that contains Spinosad to control Aphids is a bit of overkill and is potentially very toxic to our pollinators, as well as quite expensive. Plus that might well kill off the Lady Beetles and larva.
A simple spray of water to knock the Aphids off the tree is all that is needed.

He used the spray because he has an infestation of the aphids, or what ever the black dots are, that is wreaking havoc on the new leaves. You can see all the little black dots on the upper part if the leaf in the above picture. I'll pass your message on, he will be thrilled to have baby lady bugs, he is a novice organic gardener.

Yes, they appear to be aphids. I've found the trick is to wait. The ladybug larva always seem to wait till there are MANY aphids . Some sort of great survival technique.

Sometimes I get impatient and hit the aphids with a stream of water from the hose, other times I don't. Both ways results in total elimination of the aphids.

Now that his knows the lady bugs will come, hopefully he will cut back on various killing sprays and not harm them and their other beneficial bug friends. That seems to be the key to the whole thing in my experience.
