New to rooting cuttings.

Hi All! I'm Jim and an old heritage rose grower from NC who has moved to South Florida. "Rustling" rose cuttings from abandoned properties was common practice among the old rose crowd. I came across an abandoned lot with a huge plumeria in glorious bloom.I could not resist. I "rustled" a couple of cuttings and now want to root. One of the cuttings (high on the tree) was not firm. It has a bit of give or softness instead of being firm. Does this mean anything? Problems?? And, what about a cutting with blooms, will that be a problem when rooting?
BTW, the plumeria is a gorgeous red with the scent of gardenia.

TIA,
Jim
