I have been lucky enough to have 100% germination but I did plant two seeds per seed pot. The Bhut Jolokia took much longer than the others but generally most of the seeds took about a week to germinate kept at 85 degrees.

My sweet peppers, Carmen Hybrid from Tomato Growers Supply, haven't germinated yet but all my other peppers have. Has anyone else had a similar situation?

All 36 of mine haven't yet but it's becuase it's at room temp of 71 degrees. Not 85. Been 2 weeks now so i poked in and they're under there trying to come up.

with the ones that are sprouted im having very good results under flouresence lights.

started: bishop crown, pinky thai, peter pepper, red cayanne, seronyo, and paper lantern

not started: white hab,and golden cayanne

I have had very good success for my first time thanks to everyone on this forum. I have just under 100 varieties and all varieties have germinated but not all the seeds. I have around 300 seeds that have germinated. I hope this link works these are just a few pics that I took today.

Well hot peppers: i have started everything i don't start tomatoes until about april 1 every year. I think 6-8 weeks is plenty and i think with tomatoes they have chance to become leggy if you start to early so i will probably plant them either this weekend or or next. I will also start my sweet peppers (cubanell & colored bells). I won't start herbs until the middle of april.

Actually I started some at the end of jan. but the majority have been started the end of Feb. I have quite a few that are already flowering but i have been pinching them off. This Star Burst is only 3'' tall and it started flowering a couple of days ago.

I have 38 varieties going now--some overwintered and some I started for the winter. I plan to start about 144 varieties ( mostly things I haven't grown before-except a few sweets I like- but won't start them till about April 11.

I planted all of my pepper seeds on March 3. They are in my basement which is around 60F so I put the starter trays on heating pads. So far, the ones that are up are eggplant, Big Jims, Hungarian Wax, Chimayos(Thanks Byron), Manzanos, Poblanos, Billy Bikers, Burpees Hot Mixture and a mixture from Beth at Peppermania. They are now under lights and I've already potted up the eggplant and Billy Bikers. The eggplant won the prize for being 1st.

The ones that have not yet sprouted are Sandias and California Wonders. This doesn't surprise me since I remember them taking longer to germinate in previous years.
