Hardly any Archontophoenix Palms in the West San Fernando Valley

I just moved here a few months ago.

I'm familiar with the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire where I've seen plenty of Archontophoenix palms thriving in full sun. Parts of these valleys are subject to severe Santa Ana winds and temps near freezing in the winter too.

Why do I see so few of them around here? (Specifically Woodland Hills/Canoga Park) I've seen a couple of them with damage to them due to the abnormal freeze we had in January, but I take it freezes like that don't happen too often.

I'm sure they'd grow great under normal weather conditions.

Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough? I see Queens, Pigmy's and Mexican Fan palms everywhere.
