These look familiar from a Naga Morrich plant I grew.

I agree, those don't look like Bhut Jolokia (see attached pic).

bahhhhhhhhhh i ordered these from ebay and i've been growing them for months now. i have to say i'm a little disappointed. i'll order new seeds from a more reliable source.

honostly...I ordered some "chocolate bhuts" last year that ended up not being bhuts at all....but they did look almost identical to the pictures you posted...they ended up being some really gnarley chocolate hab. hybrids.....no complaints!

I looked at your pics, and one picture looked like the peppers had little 'tails' on them, like the Trinidad Scorpion pepper, a great HOT pepper. But then another picture had long slender ones in it, that looked like thin Jalepenos. Either way, those are not Bhut or a Naga peppers.

But since you have peppers, that seems to be close to ready to pick,why not let them ripen and pick them and see how hot they are? If you want to be sure to get Bhut peppers, I got mine from a seller on EBay, but he also has a website ,and he sells the Yellow Jolokias,and the Chocolate ones, as well as the Red ones. I have bought twice from him,and you get a sample of the pepper,dried and cut up,it is EVIL hot!! And I know the seeds are real ones, bececause the seeds have pepper residue on them, and just touching one to the tip of my tongue, it was on fire for hours!

I hope this isnt the same seller you had this bad deal with. His website is called 'WWW.DragonDust.com', and on EBay his selling name is 'Asiasgarden'. Hope this help you out. I have planted my seeds and nearly all have come up in less than 7 days!

trfanatic, where did you get your seeds from? Your pic does'nt resemble any bhut that i have grown. Although this pic is of one of the first on the plant and they sometimes will not be true to form, but the Bhut Jolokia will have the dimply skin.

Hi, they seem to dimple more as they mature. I have also had them Scoville tested and they are indeed the real thing.

the pictures i have are two different plants (both were supposedly bhuts) but there you go lol the flat one is turning yellow so i'm thinking its a scotch bonnet. the other one, turned red but hasnt grow much since

this is an old thread I started a few weeks ago. one of my supposedly bhut jolokia's died on me (the bottom picture in the first post). the second one i transfered it out of my hydroponic indoor garden, put it in some pro mix with added perlite/vermiculite/coco husk/hen manure and another organic fertilizer. i put it in my solarium maybe a month ago for a couple of weeks so it gets used to the outdoors. i recently transferred it outside in full sun and the result:

i dont know how this happened, the same plant that was producing tiny little pebble sized peppers (still very hot) is now producing what i hope are real jolokias! and it's only april! cant wait to see how much this will produce in a few weeks

Growing upside down, they look like those ornamental peppers you see in some shops. It's definitely NOT Bhut Jolokias.

the BHUT jolokias i'm growing have long pods,wrinkilled.but arelight green.Those look like my caribean reds.Heart shape,but,deep green.

@fred_d I'm not sure if you realize it or not, but you are commenting on a 2 year old thread.

Talk about a long maturation time, you'd think they would have turned red by now!
