Lemon tree disease???

Please see pic below

I am not sure what is causing this to my lemon tree. these 2 lemons were picked from the tree jus yesterday. What is this brown spotting and what is the best way to get rid of it, I see this brown spotting on some of the lemons that are still green. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I believe you have what is commonly called "brown rot". It is caused by the Phytophthora fungus. it can only be prevented, not cured. A preventative spray of Bordeaux mixture in October or November concentrating on the foliage within four feet of the ground and also spraying the ground.. Looks like greasy spot; lots of humidity, poor orchard floor sanitation. Most any fungicide will deal with it.

Leafminers.. If you do a web search or search this forum, you will find lots of info. The leaf damage is caused by an insect. It is very difficult to control or eliminate the problem if you are in a warm climate. All of my citrus have them... A systemic might help (Bayer product) but then you couldn't eat the fruit. I have to just pluck leaves, scrape out worms, spray every few days with FertiLome's Spinosaid product, and learn to live with ugly trees. I've been trying for years to get rid of them.
