I've rooted leaves in mix, that can take around a year. I've recently water rooted a stem, but didn't make note of the date I put it up. I took these pix, 'cause they show the round tuber AND the roots the plant develops. I really don't remember how long it took, but am guessing 9 months maybe, like from last Fall (I think I had accidentally broken the stem off the parent plant). and and So if you can grow some serious patience, you might end up w/ something like this. I rooted some cuttings in water and some leaves in soil but it did take more than 6 months. I now have a lovely little plant about 4" tall. Helgal, orchid 126 is correct. Though I am not a chemist, I have taken a few chemistry classes for my botany degree, and I can say that the fertilizers we use are salts, which do not evaporate or dissipate when left to sit in the water. If the water evaporates, the solution actually becomes stronger in concentration. The salts are too dense to evaporate. The primary salts we use are potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorous, all of which are elements, and will not simply go away by sitting in a water mix for any extended period. As for the other things in the mix, I can't say, because they differ from mix to mix. As long as you're keeping the stuff in the drum, nothing should change in as little as three or four weeks. Even in three or four years, you would probably see some change, but most, if not all of the original substance should still be present.

The List: Some of these can only be found in the states. Experiences with blooms will vary depending on your care and the environment you grow them in. Thanks for the reminder Karyn and Kylie. The trumpet flowers of these are kind of smaller than most brugs. I welcome any corrections. Inca Sun starts to bloom from spurs or Y's at 2 feet with about an 8" flower. Angel's Summer Dream is stictly at Logee's and starts to bloom from spurs and/or Y's at 1 foot. Flowers about 5-6" Cassies Curls is full grown at 2 1/2'-3' so says Park seeds. Flowers 5-6". So I'm supposing that it would have to bloom pretty early. B. Cherub - similiar to Cassies Curls - There are 2 Cherubs, it's not the bigger flowered dark pink Cherub Cypress Gardens - similiar to Cassies Curls Arborea - ? size flowers but bigger plant. These may or may not have bigger flowers, I didn't ask. So far, there's good experiences but varied with Butterfly and Little Moon blooming earlier on. Also, possibly all or some of the species Flava and Sauveolens also mentioned to bloom early, also like the cooler temps. I've heard Super Pink do(sister to Super Spot), but I don't know for certain yet, hopefully by this summer. Any second thoughts or any corrections??? - Sandy

I have 3 large Haden, and have always had this problem... seems to be the nature of the beast..... lots of small fruit and lots of large, and the squirrels always seem to attack the large first.... they have just finished for the season and the ground is littered with bits of rotting fruit and with this heat it's going to stay there awhile... seemed to be a shorter season this year however, other years it extended way into August and seemed to start earlier.....sally
