Hi there! I grew up in Pgh and know some of the plants that my mom grows now. If you have good soil and a sheltered location, you can grow datura for evening fragrance, it doesn't get very big but it will die down in the fall. My mom had no problems with it coming back and reseeding like crazy every summer. There some color variations you can get, like the white, or light purple ones, and some yellow ones too. I saw them for sale in Jung seed catalogs. Also, it's an annual but you can grow some really nice nicotiania (flowering tobacco), it smells great! My mom has a carolina allspice shrub, she loves it! Smells best in the morning. Also, for vines, moonflowers are great for night time fragrance or if you want to make an all white moon garden! You could get the moonflowers and the daturas and (if they have it) some white flowering tobacco. It smells great at night too, no matter what color it is. :) If you have shade (or plant at the base of your shrubs), you could get some viola odorata (sweet violets), there are some nice colors out there, my mom planted royal robe and queen charlotte in Pgh, and they smell wonderful! She got those from bluestone perennials, in case you need a source. Hope this helps ya! :)

Yes some are the same plant. The difference in the name is the location from where the seeds were collected. This is done in case one strand is hardier than another. I would start protecting your palms at 25F their first few winters. Then they will be fine in the teens. In your colder zone they may see extended time below freezing which will be worse than a single night at 0F. So I would make sure they are mulched, burlap the trunks and tie up the fronds early.

It says /Takil but he doesn't actually sell any Takil trees, he's just mistaken by the old Waggie/Takil confusion. Pictures are of Fortunei plants which is also weird, but as a customer I can verify they are indeed Wagnerianus. An alternative is Montreal Palms (http://montrealplants.com/?s=wagnerianus&post_type=product). The trees aren't as big for the price and larger trees cost much more than at XLB. Shipping is extra and he doesn't give you an exact figure - you don't know until your card is charged because he charges you close to cost for shipping and doesn't know what the cost is until he brings it to post - it's based on weight. From my experience buying smaller trees makes more sense from Montreal palms, but bigger trees are best bought at XLB, provided they have the species and size you're looking for, economically speaking. I know that XLB will charge maximum $250 shipping to the US, so you can order as many trees as you want if you're buying enough to exceed $250 in shipping costs. The downside is that the minimum shipping cost is $50, so buying 3-gallon trees on their own is usually a waste of money. I don't know if there is a maximum per order at Montreal palms as I haven't bought in bulk from there yet, but I do plan to this coming Spring. I want some of his 10' needle palms!
