Unfortunately I don't have a hydroponic supply store in town, I need to drive to Las Vegas, it's a 3 1/2 hour drive one way to get to the nearest hydroponic store for me. But when I am in Las Vegas, I check the phone book for the hydro stores close to my hotel, and then like to take a drive there to check out what they have (ask questions etc.). But just like any other retail business you have both kinds, the people that give you their honest opinion, an the ones that are just trying to sell you products. You just need to be objectively able to tell the difference. I don't see anything wrong with buying from the net, although I would prefer buying direct from a brick and mortar business to save the shipping cost. However I wont buy from a site if I have any questions about the company's ethics. And I look for well established company's that have a physical address, as well as phone number. I will sometimes even call the phone number to ask questions, and/or make sure the number is valid. I often even e-mail them a quick question just to see if they give a professional reply, as well as see how fast they respond. Any good company will answer within 24 hours, with the exception sometimes of the weekends. Any longer and they are giving potential costumers time to shop somewhere else. And if they don't think much of potential customers spending money, they will think even less if you have a problem you need resolved. I can't really think of one time that I have had a bad online buying experience for anything. I don't generally buy from eBay or Amazon, not saying that buying from them is a bad idea, but you should be extra vigilant in determining if the seller is reputable. Again I always try to find out if they have a regular physical store address and phone, but most of the time that's hard to do with eBay and Amazon because they don't usually post links to the website (not a eBay store) to get that info, nor do they usually post the website name in order to do a Google search for it. However I did buy some GH nutrients from a eBay seller about 4 years ago, and found that seller to be very helpful and prompt with shipping my order. But at the same time I have looked for those same nutrients both on eBay and commercial online sites, and found the savings from the eBay stores very minimal, and in a few cases even found better prices from the commercial online stores. Yes, I had thought it was Starfish, but couldn't find a picture anywhere until yesterday when I was looking up Intense Rainbow, which Bill mentioned might be what my Hawaiian Royal color is per Mona. I found it online at Teas Nursery under Starfire. No Jim Little mentioned however. About a month ago I bought a Singapore White seedling from Amazon ($15!!). Turned out to be a dwarf, not mentioned on the website, but that is ok. I received a nice seedling, well packaged and in great shape. I just notice this weekend that it is developing an inflo! Yeah!!! I am amusing that it is a dwarf pink, as I am not sure whether there is a white dwarf.. I love my Singapore! I love the look of the dark shiny leaves.

6 YEARS LATER AND ATG STORES IS UP TO THE SAME TRICKS. I just ordered a laundry hamper through their store on Jan. 27. On Feb. 3, I checked on my order which said it was "still being processed." On Feb. 8, my order NO LONGER EXISTED. When I called their customer service, the gentleman on the phone said they had sent me an email on Jan. 30 (similar to that 3 day window you mentioned!). I checked my email and there was NO EMAIL SENT. (I checked all spam/junk/promo). He said they were back-ordered for THREE MONTHS. I told them that was unacceptable and that I wanted my money back. (at least that went smoothly). But now today I get an email that says I canceled the order? WRONG. YOU DID NOT HAVE ITEM AVAILABLE. What's sad is that item is still being shown as available to purchase on their website, so some other sucker can go fall for the same trap. If I hadn't called... I would still be waiting... yet without an order number to back me up... and maybe not receiving my item until APRIL (if ever)! When I tried to post about it on their Facebook page, my post did not go up... so, when people visit their social media, they can't see the sh*tty experience others are having... tricky, tricky ATG Stores... Tricky, TRICKY! Shame on you for your deceptive practices!

So far PepperPlate is a winner. I like the simple format...easy to read and navigate. With the 'add to Pepperplate' on my bookmark bar, when i search for an ingredient recipe and see something worth saving i just hit that on my 'bar' and it automatically adds it without copy/paste. No longer have the adds popping up. customizing a grocery list seems to be handy for us. If i stumble across a wadded list in my dresser from a year ago, it is about the same list. Plugging in all our standard things we purchase and have them organized by isle/type, might save us from missing something. (just realized i was out of corn tortillas for tonights tacos)....I'll just make an arugula salad and croutons for the warm smoked pork...rather than run out and waste the shopping time. Once it is set up and DH has it on his phone, he can scan the list when he stops on his way home.
