advice on potted sabal palmettos

My potted double cabbage palms (two in one pot) seem to have a slight brownish look on the sides of the spears (the fronds are mature and fully split so the spears will seperate as they emerge) It seems to only effect the side leaves not the inner ones. It almost looks like some kind of fungus but I can't be sure. I got it from St. Augustine the week after easter. While we still had cool weather then we have had an averge high of 87 over the past two weeks. The spears have grown some but of course these are slow growing palms. The spears don't show any signs of pulling and the plant otherwise seems quite healthy. I applied a fungiced a couple of weeks ago just in case. Any ideas what this might be. We're having such a hot spring it should feel right at home. The plants are about 4 feet if you hold the newest full fronds strait up. It's getting full sun from about 10;30-8:00 I would appreciate any insight.
