Comments (11)Jean, Glad you enjoyed the pics. I had never seen Siam Tulips either, until last year. I wasn't sure they'd survive the winter. But they came back and quadrupled in number. And I agree, ROSE MASTERPIECE is a beauty. Nate, The Siam Tulips should do well in your zone. They are suppose to be borderline here. But I have them planted in a protected area, under some pine trees. I found them in Home Depot. This year they had them in a solid rose color. I bought two small pots. I divided them all and spread them out. We'll see how they do next year. Marg, The Duranta is new to me, but it's suppose to be a shrub. This variety does not flower. Mine were only about 6 inches when I planted them and they grew at least a foot this year. Julia, The Black Pearl Pepper plants are easy to grow from seed. They love hot weather. I save a few peppers every year so that I can replant them. Kathy...See MoreWANTED: looking for a few hot peppers!!!
Comments (2)I got some Purple Jalapeno seeds if interested. I just picked up a Black Pearl pepper plant, but unfortunately don't have seeds. I believe it is a hybrid so saving seed would not work. There was another trader on here that had Black Pearl pepper seeds. I don't think I have the other varieties you are looking for though. Sorry. Chris...See MoreBattered Black Pearl Plant
Comments (1)For now, I'd put it into good soil and a good pepper growing location. Give it a week or two to grow. Then you can see what branches are growing and which should go. Some of the severely trimmed, overwintered plants you have seen were cut way back to make them alot smaller so the owner would have room to overwinter lots of them. I would not trim yours like that. Just remove what looks dead after you have given it good conditions to grow in for awhile....See MoreBlack Pearl pepper
Comments (2)I grow the black pearl. It is my favorite ornamental pepper. I have been tossing around some ideas of doing my front flowerbed next year with more ornamental pepper plants. Right now, I only have Medusa's up front. Next year, I will plant morning glory flowers in the back, as I have this year, black pearl's in the middle and medusa's up front. Unfortunately this year, I planted my black pearls in a raised bed and the pepeprs I grew in fron are bigger, so the Black Pearl's are hard to see.
