cucumber beetles and squash bugs oh my!

I guess I've been checking at the wrong time of day, but every morning, I go out and look for pests on my plants. Sometimes I see damage, not much, but never any bugs. Well, I guess they come out in the evening, right? Because I just went out and found squash bugs and cucumber beetles on my lovely cucmber plant.

So, I went out there with a long handled basting brush ;) and started brushing them off my cucumber... well, I didn't know they flew, so it startled me when they flew off the plant, can you just picture me out there swinging my basting brush and screaming like a little girl?

So, here is my plan of attack... does it sound good?

Tomorrow I am going to do a thorough search of my cucumber and then cover it with a floating row cover. Anything else I should do? Hope I can find a floating row cover. How much of an emergency is this?

Here is a picture of my cucumber, it appears very healthy, has a 3 inch cuke on it and several smaller ones. I am very proud of it and do not want to lose it to the bugs.

One of my little cukes

Sorry if I am monopolizing the board today.
