There are instructions as to how to post to the gallery (of this particular forum) on the front page (top or bottom), but you'll have to find it as I don't use it myself. You say you know it doesn't like a lot of water, yet you said you thought it wasn't getting enough water (and I presume you then watered it?), plus you said it rains constantly... which would lead me to believe it's gotten much, much wetter than it ever should (which is why people keep these in the house unless they live in the dry west). Also, repotting in midsummer is a bad thing, though I do understand why you did it. All in all, your tree sounds pretty bad, and I hope you're not emotionally attached to it because I don't think it's going to get a lot better at this point, especially with the fungus or whatever problem it seems to have on top of the rest. It might be a good idea to keep the next one indoors.

What you have there is a plant trying to decide what kind of roots to grow in the enviroment their grown in. Your plant is having that trouble. Most plants grown commerically are grown hydroponicly. So when you bring them home they start to die because it's not getting that high oxygen. Then too the the lack of moisture every half hour drys out the roots too. The other thing you have to look at is how it gets nutrients. All these things mean dead roots. Those roots showing in your picture are ones that grow in stagnant water. I grew this one from seed.

Helen, if you're happy with its size and looks, and the plant seems healthy from your description, I think you could just leave it in present pot. I have a cluster of 3 in a small eight-inch pot which I am deliberately keeping small by not repotting...I like the "bonsai" look of it. I dig out top inch or so of soil and replace with fresh, leaving in same-size pot. On the other hand, my husband's office has a 6-footer which is moved to larger pot/fresh soil every couple of years and it grows at least twice as fast as mine. These are tough adaptable plants...repotting just depends on what results you want as to growth. jo

I think they look fine. Kind of like having three palms planted close to each other and each leaning away from the rest.
