could you spare two seeds for sase,or if you like banana plants or agave let me know thanks tiggie

They arent too hard to grow. One thing they seem to hate is water on there fronds, but they will recover. I use miracle gro to fertilize mine and it works really well. It gets water once a week indoors during the winter and is watered everyday in the summer (and is in full sun). They love heat and sun, but seem to tolerate some cooler weather too as long as it isnt below freezing. Good luck!

thanks for the response. These are older palms about 7-8ft tall. Have been in the same pots for a number of years. I just got them with a new house. Unfortunately I do not have the option of moving them to a less shaded area. Does that mean they should be watered more frequently?

Yes, at that size you wouldn't want to be trying to divide the clumps. Mine don't sucker that high on the trunks, that is starting to look more like branching. I've heard that there are about 40 varieties of these so maybe it's a characteristic of the one you have. I wouldn't consider that clump as large, in the sense of broad. Mine of that size are large as well. My tallest variety have few trunks but seed prolifically. So there's hundreds of seedlings coming up around them. That tends to be a nuisance. About the only thing I could suggest for those is to trim the fronds off and use a rooting powder. If you keep it all sterile then perhaps you might get roots before any rots set in.
