Heres a few pics of 2 weeks ago's plantings and a few pics of the other day 70s weather! loved it and spring is here! heres just a few new random pictures!

New King Sago near driveway-

nicely wrapped small 15gal. Mexican Fans in their first winter, still vibrant green after opening...

-This area is right outside my moms fence and its her property with a city "easement" anyway the city tried to get mad at me and make me move them i said no and many reasons and long talks with the city. You would think they would love it now hate it it makes an area that was just all dead grass look like that and im not close to being done haha! Va Beach city hates palm trees it sucks...

-Nice and tall Sabals

the palms look great. Once the sabals grow a full crown thyey will look great

Great pics! Spring is definitely their by you! I really like that Sago palm and all your plants look amazing! Its hard to tell from the pic but it looks like some of the trees in the background are starting to get green (the Southern Mag looks very green, but they always do!). Are a lot of trees starting to bloom yet? The buds on the trees just started growing a little bit. In a month they should be starting to bloom (maybe less if we get some more nice weather!)

Hostaholic, your winter picture could make a beautiful Christmas card. I know it is not what you want to see about now, but there is beauty in it. I will have to take more pictures of things here, they are all bursting forth. One big and older pot of jasmine and clematis and black eyed susan vine is in bloom. The deep purple clematis and the bright orange b-e-susan-vine were looking back at me as I noticed them from the dining room window. The jasmine is ready to burst forth too....white spidery blooms. And I refreshed a bowl of mini hosta to sit on the umbrella-covered deck table. Little Tiny Tears has a scape. I showed it to DH, and he laughed. He never imagined hosta could be so tiny. The little Dixie Queen, from Savory's, is a nod to our first dachshund girl, Dixie. It is looking fine, and is the largest of the 4 tiny hosta in that very healthy bowl of minis. It has two Tiny Tears (from different sources), a Pandora's Box, and Dixie Queen. And takes up about a square foot of space on the table! No pictures of the minis yet. I was packing away winter clothing today. :/ Dancing Queen on 4/18/13 with her disco ball Alex Summers same day And here, if you have the patience to find them, are a medley of fragrant hosta including: Emerald Charger, Tortilla Chip, Mama plantaginea (in the black dress to left), Liverpool White, Hadspen White, Fragrant King (only one dormant), Sweet Marjorie, Guacamole, Holy Mole, Sugarbabe (smallest fragrant supposedly), Aphrodite, AND Iron Gate Glamour. Thanks, Phil and Anita. Can you believe, it's actually zone 4 here, bordering on 5 (most z5 plants will grow fine due to the heavy snow cover in the winter) but there's that much difference in the seasons! And thank you too, Ken. I think you're right. Would you be more likely to believe it's montana Aureomarginata rather than Paradigm? Somehow, I think the tags may have gotten mixed.

Outdoor dreams??? Well, let's start with the 200,000 dollar + dream backyard/oasis. In ground pool, diving rock, grotto, lazy river, hot tub, etc with the beautifully landscaped yard surrounding it with raised gardens, accent lighting and the gardener/pool boy to maintain it all. More realistic (not NECESSARILY requiring a huge lottery win) would be replacing the chain link fence with a privacy fence for the backyard (8,000-10,0000) and finish having the driveway poured. Our current driveway is mostly gravel with only a small portion of it concrete. We sit on a corner lot and our property is higher than the roads. Our driveway curves from one road to the other, I.e. very long, and expensive to pour. Since our driveway is uphill from all directions, during the winter there are times we can't get up our driveway. Once we reach the concrete, we have the traction to reach the house. The issue is literally timing and gunning the engine at the entrance to the driveway at just the right moment in order to make it from the road to the concrete. I'm hoping that in the next year or two that we can at least finish the concrete to the road on the garage side entrance so we don't have to leave our vehicles in the snow drift on the road and hike to the house. Did I mention that my new stove and fridge are coming on Friday? I will post a picture when they arrive. I'm so excited to finally have new appliances (a first for me) AND they are what I wanted and picked out!!

thank you all soooo much! i appreciate all of the comments! tropiczone- no the tres havent started budding yet but i suppose soon they will as tonight is the last night near the 30s. im soo glad! all the bulbs are coming up and you can def see the sun is out much longer and it is higher! Mrs. Laura- thanks so much! tropical smoothies for a hard worker like you? ANYTIME! haha we love seeing you drive by, your help, encouragement, knowledge...everything you have done to help us! My palms did pretty well this winter, too... though we never got a day down to even freezing this year (yet... cold may still be comin'... sometimes our coldest days of the year can be as late as April).

this shot is around the corner and is sort of also our front yard (maybe a side yard, but also faces a street). Not too many palms in this area, but still looks fairly untouched by winter

hey sorry been busy... but no didnt lose any sabals at all. also fertilizer i use many different and as Mrs. Laura tought me all the organics - blood mean bone meal fish emulsion... Lzrddr- where are you located? you have beautiful palms and agaves that look untouched! -Justin in VB
