New to Passifloras, New to this Forum
Hello,
I am a new Passiflora grower. I started a plant from seed last year, but it got lost in the shuffle as I had Lyme disease.
I am trying again, and have several varieties, and many have already sprouted. I have started them early indoors to get a head start. I have no idea how long it takes to get a flower from seed, so I figured, the earlier the better.
Now, there may be some repeats in my list: I got some seeds with the Latin name, and others only have the common name, so I am starting both because I don't know if there are duplicates. Maybe someone could let me know if I am growing duplicates. I am growing the following types:
P. malformis
P. amethystiana
P. mollissima
P. aurantia
P. cinnebarina
P. quadrangularis
P. lingularis
P. edulis
Blue Crown
Yellow
Red
Yes, for a newbie, I went whole hog. Does anyone have any advice? How warm does it have to be at night before they can stay outside? Are they difficult to keep going? How are they about being transplanted? How much sun? I will be researching, but I find advice from homegrowers to be the most helpful.
THANKS!
Robin
