The leaning fronds are simply aesthetically unpleasing to you. If you plant the tree straight up, the palm will naturally and all by itself grow straight. The leaning fronds will remain leaning until they dry and are cut off, but if the tree is planted straight, the new fronds will grow evenly at the top. Since it is about 10 feet tall, i doubt it has a real woody trunk.

It does have a pretty thick trunk. It's a bit taller than I stated. Just curios, why do you think the fronds are curving to one side?

It might be sick. I've had a Med. fan palm that I received through the mail. Within a few months, the top was leaning to one side. Eventually the palm died, I think because of rot.

Last summer the same thing happened to a 6ft triple trunked Phoenix Roebellini I bought. I think the sprinkler was hitting the crown too much. It also died.

Would it help at all to stake it on the non leaning side a bit high to apply some pressure opposite of the bending fronds?

All i can tell you is not to waste your efforts to try and straighten the already leaning fronds. If your palm was container grown, it is probably leaning because the container wasn't set straight. Those existing fronds will only last a couple of months and will eventually be replaced by new fronds. No matter what you do, once you release the pressure, the fronds will go back to the way they were. At the very most, those existing fronds will only last until this following fall, then they will begin to turn yellow and eventually dry up. It's the new fronds that I would stress about growing straight/symetrical. What i would do is make sure the "trunk" is planted straight, and maybe even stake it on three or four sides to keep the "trunk" straight.
