Hyophorbe (Spindle palm)-solitary vs. clump.

Recently, I saw some nice Spindle palms being sold in a big chain store. The palms were growing three to a pot. My question is... aren't these normally grown as solitary specimens and doesn't it stunt this palm to be grown in a tight cluster of three? I know some species are naturally clustering (Meds, Rhapis, etc.), but what about those that are 'naturally' solitary? I did get it because I have at least one Spindle already and prefer them as solitaries? Thanks in advance.
