They're pretty hardy palms and I would think that yours, having been up north all this time, may have become accustomed to the climate. If you put it in a place where a cold wind won't hit it straight on, you should be able to keep it alive. Either way, it was a free plant, so the monetary loss is not a factor!

I have an 8 foot tall adonidia quadruple that has quite literally overgrown my own living room.It is in beautiful shape and is super easy to maintain.Most sites will list its light requirements as high but mine has been in the cold garage with just 2 gro-lights and still looks beautiful.If you have a bright room with a vaulted ceiling this would look absolutely spectacular.It is much too large to ship but if you live in the Atlanta area email me and we can make arrangements.I love the trees and wish I could keep them but I just dont have enough space.Please email me if you are interested. The palms grew faster last year( coming from Florida and being outside during the summer). Now, it takes almost a year for one new frond to unfurl! I suppose they have adjusted to the indoor light. They seem crowded in that small nursery pot, so I do plan to transplant up in the slightly larger pot…and then never again…because it is too large to handle. What is the best time to transplant?

"Imo no palms are good as house pants." That's not true. You just have to know WHICH palms WILL work for your conditions. No, a "Majesty Palm" will likely not work. But after decades specializing in the cultivation of palms, I can highly recommend the following for a fully indoor life: Rhapis (excelsa, is the most widely available species, but others work too) Howea (Kentia palms) Chamaedorea (multiple species) Hyophorbe (both Spindle and Bottle palms) are surprisingly easy. Caryota (Fishtail Palms) I even have a species of Pritchardia is easy indoors. YES, they can be initially costly and can be difficult to obtain depending on your location..., but I have gotten many of my plants mail order. My local, big box stores USED TO BE terrific for exotic palms, now it's the same miserable selection as you see all over (outside of South Florida), Majesty Palms destined to die. P.S., Sorry to report, I have not had much success with Adonidia indoors (even when summered outside). I think I have given up on this species but know I will succumb to temptation if I see one under 8 feet for sale, LOL. Good luck!
