I need to do some spraying with chlorine solution (Jomax). Trying to decide between the SP Systems YardTender 189 and the Echo MS-40. Biggest differences: Yardtender 189 has a 20" brass wand. MS-40 has a 16" brass wand. Yardtender 189 warranty is 6 months. MS-40 warranty is 5 years. Yardtender ships with adjustable brass nozzle and a fan nozzle. The MS-40 ships with fan nozzle. The MS-40 is $10 cheaper, and has cheaper accessories. Been going back and forth as to which one to buy.

I use a 2-gal. pump sprayer for the smaller jobs but have a 4-gal backpack for the big jobs like when spraying for BS and PM. The only thing is four gallons of any liquid is heavy no matter how you transport it and the 4-gal is very difficult to get on your back without some help. Also having to pump that lever all the time while spraying gets pretty tiring and annoying really quick. I am going to look into the automatic sprayer on wheels hopefully with a 4-gal capacity. John

I have the Graco TrueCoast 360 VSP. It's a handheld sprayer. I just tried to shoot Zinsser CoverStain (oil-based primer product # 3551 (check there are different product #s)) with very poor results. There were pulsation marks, tails and the dried finish was like orange peel. The primer is thick. I double checked tip size requiremnets. The sprayer uses 0.015 tips and the paint requires 0.015-0.017 tips. The problem was likely the pressure. The paint needs 1800-2200psi and the Graco can only output 1500psi. I thought I checked the pressure compatibility, but must have gotten it wrong. The paint says DO NOT THIN. I've read a few reports, one above included, where it was thinned with paint thinner. I don't know how that will impact the paint. In my case, I don't need a stain blocker, just something to bond to clean maple kitchen cabinets so the top coat with stick properly. I'm going to try to thin the primer and shoot again with the Graco VSP and test how well it sticks, although I'm unsure how well it will hold up overt time if thinned. I also have a Wagner PaintCrew (its old) that run at 2800psi and can use 0.015 tips that I'll try. Clean-up is a real pain and uses lots of mineral spirit.

This is the one I use for FoliagePro 9-3-6. I like it really well. I'm sure there might be better ones. You should be able to find it by online search if not locally.
