Kennedia coccinea - Oz to Canada

Curious weither anyone has some insight into compensating for hardiness in the care of an Australian native plant - Kennedia coccinea (common coral vine).
I know it is an invasive vine/ground cover in the SW forests of Australia, rather tropical (min. 5*c ???), needs well drained soil (quality is somewhat secondary) and that it thrives in part shade.
Anyone who knows or has experienced it grow, I am really interested in the hardiness factors!!! And would love to hear your stories!
My guy is two years old, lives on a trelis on an eastern exposure and hasn't flowered yet. First winter out in the elements.
Look forward to hearing from you!
