I would not know how to even ship the starts. It is now about 8 inches to a foot tall. When it just starts to sprout shoots off the old wood in the spring, I carefully take a dry shoot with the new start and just plant in the ground. I have about 6 new ones in the ground now. I am so afraid to actually cut this plant in half , but my mom said it will not hurt it acutally it would love it. Im trying to figure out how to post the new picts on here .

Hi BoTam and Steve, I know it isn't a traditional gate for a Japanese Garden but I saw a photo of a garden seen from inside a home. The window treatment gave me the idea for the design. I put it on paper and had it made of steal, then powder coated black. The craftsman who made it did a wonderful job and suggested from my drawing not to have the left side go all the way to the top. I had thought both sides were needed for stability, but believe me is is there forever. It sort of reminds me of a quarter moon inside a full moon. I now love how it frames the view into the garden from my favorite spot on the patio. And thank you for your kind comments on the design of the gate. Hi and welcome. Do you know what kind your plants are? I think our resident North Carolinian is Mona. She is a regular poster and will be able to give great advice tailored to your locale. Fertilizers can be made as complex or simple as you want it. As you get more comfortable with your new Plumerias you can always experiment with other fertilizers but for right now I would look for a more forgiving balanced fertilizer such as Osmacote 14-14-14 or use what you have and adjust longer the application schedule AND cut the dosage down by at least half to prevent salt build up in your soil. Leaves turning brown from the bottom of the plant are easily surmised as they are done and the plant no longer has use for them. If it continues past the bottom most leaves then it could be other issues such as too much or too little water. The best thing is be consistent and observe then adjust until you come up with your sweetspot. Good luck.
