Wozer, poured last night in Edmond. Went out with a flashlight and looked.

2 and a third inch in my gauge!

Both rain barrels I just sat under the drainpipes below my deck are full, looked like overflowed!!! Wozer!

I guess, it washed all my pre emergent I put down last week (yeah, I know it was late) down the hill.

I hope, everyone else got lucky and some rain as well, or is still getting some. Looks like Tulsa will get some before the day is over.

Lots of rain here, like Moni. That hail got a little rough for a few minutes about 1 am. Not large hail like they'd been talking about earlier in the evening, just pea sized. After we knew it wasn't going to be much more than flash and noise here, we said a prayer of thanksgiving for the rain and went to bed. I woke up about 12:45 with my back really giving me fits, so was awake when the hail started. Stood in the front door and watched it for a few minutes.

I'm hoping it was enough to water in my new raised cinder block lasagna/'square foot' veggie beds :) DH and the boys finished them Sunday!! WooHoo! I'll go out later and check on them and see how deep it wet those beds down.

We're supposed to get a chance at some of that rain this afternoon. They keep changing their minds as to what our chances are so we'll see. Sure did get some of the wind yesterday! Hubby was putting panels up on the greenhouse yesterday and the wind kept fighting him.

Latest forecast here is calling for cold (30s) again in a few days. Argh.

Ahhhh rain... I gave up and watered the peas, lettuce, turnips, radish, and potatoes and now we get rain.. I guess I just need to water more often!

I got an inch and a half. Yahoo!!!! I managed to throw some fescue seed down in the front yard before the rain hit, so hopefully the front yard will be green up a little more evenly now :)

I wish I had thought ahead and sprinkled a few other seeds. I had some herbs that I was planning to direct seed and that would have been perfect.

I DESPERATELY need to get my flower seeds started. I just haven't been motivated this year.

No rain in my rain gauge, but I understand our county has had several grass fires, but nothing big.

It apparently got pretty windy here because some of the empty flower pots (very large ones) were blown around and some limbs were down.

Lisa, I haven't done anything with flower seeds yet either and I feel terribly behind, and stressed because of it. There's been lots of family stuff lately and it is cutting into my gardening time.

Beginning either tomorrow or the next day, I hope to get back to doing lawn and garden type work.

Of course, if rain is not going to fall here, I won't plant a whole lot of flowers.

I guess some of y'all have snow in the forecast by the weekend. None for us, but there's rain in the forecast. (Rain is in the forecast every day, but it isn't falling.)

Dawn, it's made me feel stressed too. Although obviously not enough to make me do something about it.

I did spread a ton of zinnia seeds today as well as some dill and a VERY few fennel seeds. The man who sold me the seeds told me it was too early, especially with the snow in the forecast, but I decided to go forward anyway. It may be the only way they get done this year.

I still need to haul out the seed starting pans. My other seeds are too precious to direct sow :)

I don't think I traded one seed this year...oh, maybe I did one trade back in the fall. That's a huge record for me, although I have been trading less and less since the post office decided to make crazy postage increases. I did send all my extras to Trudi D. so she could share them for winter sowing....

I think I need a vacation....sun, beach, hot tub, a stack of books.

Well, I cannot work outside today because it is trying to rain, so I am going to start some flower seeds in flats. I should be cleaning house and doing laundry but I simply don't want to. I want to grow something!

The possibility of snow this weekend has now moved all the way down here into southern OK, so I am going to have to carry all those flats of tomato plants back inside the house on Thurs. or Fri. depending on when the real cold arrives. I'm not happy about that....but this will be only the second time I've had to carry them inside after moving them out.

The flower flats I fill today will go on the light shelf, so I guess I'll set up two long folding tables in the plant room (used to be a guest room, but there's no room for guests from now until late April) and carry the tomato seedlings up there when the cold front gets close.

I'm going to start zinnias, nicotianas and a few other things. I won't know what, for sure, until I go through the seed crate and pull out a few packets. I don't direct sow much because our land has a serious slope to it and all the seeds wash downhill and up in the bar ditch. Once, one of the "old farmer" types that lives up the road from us stopped and told me I had "the prettiest bar ditch" he'd ever seen--it was full of several kinds of poppies and larkspur. I thanked him for the compliment, gave him permission to come back later and collect all the seed he wanted once they'd set seed, and never told him the bar ditch was planted "by the rain" as it washed seeds out of the real garden and into the ditch!

I need to scatter some more poppy seed before the cold front arrives. It is very, very slow to sprout this year, perhaps because of the drought, so I need to put out some more seed in case the "reseeders" from last year didn't reseed well. Maybe it has been too dry this whole last year for the poppies to germinate and grow.

One plant that did reseed well was the 'Malva' Zebrina in the shrub bed. I have tiny little plants everywhere....including in the adjoining bermuda grass. I'm thinking seriously about hand-painting Round-up onto the grass around the malva seedlings and killing it so they can grow and I can have a big patch of malva.
