Happy Fall and Thanksgiving in Canada

The last week has seen sun and fog and the gradual changing of the garden. The light at this time of year is wonderful. I hope you enjoy.

Absolutely wonderful pictures! What a heavenly oasis you have created. Get out your wooly sweater and a pour yourself a glass of scotch ( invite me over) and you're all set. Fantastic, enjoy your autumn. The season of dreaded whiteness will be upon us all too soon.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with whomever you all enjoy it with. Ours was yesterday, just me & DH & my parents and Grandma. It was very nice. Syreeta, you probably have flour weevils or pantry moths. They are very common. I have heard of putting bay leaves in your flour to ward them off but the best way IMO is just to keep your flour in a hard plastic/glass/metal canister so they can't get in. Good thing you noticed BEFORE you cooked with it! :0

Kath, what a beautiful ts to celebrate Canada's Thanksgiving Day. Great combo using the burgandy, gold and green colors on this table. Neat cp with acorns, pumpkins, wheat. Always love seeing covered pumpkin bowls. Amazing how many different styles are out there. Great find on the dishes for only .25 each. The napkins have such a pretty design and love the colors. I would of picked them up too! All the grain has been harvested now so guess I missed out on using any for a fall scape this year. Punk

Thank You ladies for your wishes! I have so much to be thankful for. Both of our sons will be home! I haven't seen our oldest son for 6 months. I'm so excited. Our youngest, is just a couple hours away at Purdue but, it will be so great to have them both under our roof for a few days. After the holiday, our oldest will be heading to Miami (he has been in NJ since he graduated from Purdue in May) with his job, so it's kinda bittersweet, plus it's my first Thanksgiving without my Mother. Sunday for us, Monday is then a day of leisure and leftovers. It was just the two of us this year so I cooked a turkey breast for the first time ever. We were lucky we had any kind of Thanksgiving dinner. I've had the flu, then a nasty head cold which of course turned into bronchitis. I haven't eaten anything for a week, but since the turkey was defrosted it had to be cooked. Hubby and I put together the meal, and even made some squash soup. I had a small plate. Today I feel better, am still coughing but it will be strenuous coughing again throughout the night.
