Rob's Loose Noodle reverting to solid purple
Comments (3)Anne - it happens quite often with fantasy and bi-color varieties. It hurts the most when your chimera turns solid. That's why it makes sense to pot up several babies and keep them until they bloom - and give away the sports. There are enough people who would enjoy growing NOIDs, or schoolkids or neighbors - who possibly will kill it soon - but it will bring a week of joy to their life. You should definitely ask Rob, but I would think the sport should have some redeeming qualities before it gets named. I bet Dr. Robinson goes through hundreds and hundreds of new crosses every year - but he only names several each year - and they all have some pizzazz in them. Just because it is solid blue, miniature and has green leaves - doesn't make it named. For me - if something is off description - it is automatically gets earmarked - for gifts. Comments (130)1. I also have a slug problem-you should see what those things can do to alpine strawberries! I'd use beer traps, but it seems such a waste. 2. I'm not convinced on the delphs, but I'm not opposed either-guess my usual ambivalence comes to the fore. I guess I'll try on a test basis, at some point. I've got a lot of lawn to dig up & leaf mulch to incorporate in the meantime. Those things are poisonous? Not that I plan on eating any, still it might somehow mix in with the dandelions that look to be peoples food of the future. 3. I'm still intrigued by the bats, and the moonflowers, and the 4 o'clocks, etc.. Not sure how my rosa moschata temple musk will do in that regard, so accompaniment seems warranted....See MoreHave you had your Guardian Angel revert???
Comments (40)A reminder that you don't need Jo, but maybe helpful to others. Too much green is due to added chlorophyll the leaves produce to better photosynthesize carbon dioxide into plant matter and oxygen. If exposed to more sun the need for chlorophyll is reduced and ergo the green recedes. More sun, the lighter the coloration of the leaves; larger margins. Less sun, more green. This is why hosta turn green in the Fall as daylight decreases. I'm sure you will try to get back to the sunlight you had success with last year during next season. Use a screen, more green. Add some light, nice and bright. I apologize, it was the best I could come up with. Jon...See MoreNormal or reverting?
Comments (15)Here you go, Brozeus.. Do you see additional misting since the previous photo in the left of the now-tilted-previously-three-o'clock leaf? One of the three blues is gaining some misting. Patience isn't a strong suit with me either, lol...which is why I went out to take pictures now....a lot of them! :D.
