I wound up with a bunch of extra stuff. livyandbella, I have your plants and will hold them for you.

Also, I think Linda left her folding chair behind and Connie left a small tray of plants behind which was my fault. Connie, I can hold them for you to come and pick up.

I didn't take any photos but I know some were taken. It was great fun and a great day!

Yes, WG thanks for a wonderful swap! Your home and gardens are lovely and you are your husband were welcoming hosts. I enjoyed meeting some new gardeners, seeing people from previous swaps, and talking plants, even if I can't garden right now. Thank you all and especially whitegarden for a lovely afternoon of good company and food and wonderful plants. I vowed not to go home with anything, but who can turn down white nastur., white irises, and a white nicotiana. Plus some yellows, too!

Everyone, if any one is out near Lexington or wants to make the trip, I have more European Ginger to give away. I also have 'astermoea mongolica' I didn't have time to dig up for Sunday, but waits in the garden to be divided. There's magenta and pink perennial geraniums which make great ground covers as well.

They are yours for the digging.

One of these days, I'm going to hit one of these! We're in the middle of a kitchen/laundry room remodel so the timing was poor this year.

Marie, I'd love to dig up some of your ginger and geraniums! The new garden area I'm working on now would be perfect for them. This week with all the rain forecast might not be the best but if there's a good window of decent weather I could run on down...I'm in Newbury.

The new mixed shrub/tree border is replacing 4 ratty looking, dying 20' tall spruce trees that never should have been planted so close to the front of the house and in the shade of a Linden tree. We cut them down last week. This is "pro landscaping"???

Someone wanted to sell a lot of trees...PO's got suckered.

Marie...I forgot to see if your email is posted. I'll keep in touch. How much ginger do you think you want to get rid of?

Thanks all for a wonderful swap and a special thanks to our host and hostess for putting it all together, their home and gardens are just beautiful. The time flew by and I am sure I didn't get a chance to garden talk with many of you, so I am already looking forward to our next get together. Katy

In the past few days I was busy working on my little new flower bed. That is why until now I have time to get online and say hi to you. We planted 30+ new plants and I am sure I will have loads lot of question coming up.

WG, thank you for holding the plants for me. Maybe I can stop by sometime to pick them up? I can drive home via Rt 85 which is usually around 5:30pm. Please let me know if that time works for you.

You guys aren't going to believe this but a woodchuck helped itself to the plants you guys brought to me at the swap. He went to town on the two BEAUTIFUL echinaceas that terrene brought me, the phlox and a batchelor's button someone left behind. While he was at it he ate one of the only mature echinaceas that survived the vole attack in my small entry garden too.

My neighbor and I are going to set a trap tonight. If it is not one thing it is another!

WG I am so sorry to hear about the woodchuck attack! I saw one scurrying through my yard the other day, but no damage so far (I'm keeping my fingers crossed).
Now I'll have a moment of silence for all the beautiful flowers you've lost to pests :(

Thanks floral_euph! It is sad that I lost fabulous plants but am thinking "well at least I can still plant them and they will come back next year. With the voles they are gone forever"

I came home with a plant I have no idea what it is. It's in a square 4inch pot,a clump of shiny,green,heart hsped leaves. Can someone tell me what I've got. Is it ginger? Thanks,Jardinista

It could be ginger. I brought some. If you crush a stem it smells like it.
