My late beloved mother in law always used to get me WFF gift certificates. So I'd get plants from them, but the quality was really poor for the price. I don't understand how they get away with it. They do have one hydrangea that I'm tempted by, Blue Billow, but I plan to resist the temptation - don't want to spend my $ there. The only thing I got from them that really did well was "The Works" daffodils. I have to say, they are utterly stunning and have thrived. But everything else was a real disappointment. I hope your hydrangea is ok - my advice would be maybe pot it up and grow it on for a while til it puts on some size (its likely to be very small). Good luck!

Deborah, I haven't read those novels, but I have read another book by that author, Rhys Bowen(?). I wasn't impressed, but maybe her lighter novels are better. I'll tell you what I've just read and was so very moved by--Olive, Again, which follows Olive Kitteridge, a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. I think the second Olive novel should get the prize also. What a book. As usual, my book tastes are all over the map, and I read constantly. I read Thunderstruck by Erik Larsen, a nonfiction book which reads like a novel, which all his well researched books do. But even though I liked it very much, it didn't hold a candle to his best work, The Devil in the White City. You've got to read that one. And I haven't forsaken the Brits. I recently finished the sixth and last Mapp and Lucia novels by E.F. Benson. Oh, brother, you've got to read those. They are nutty novels of manners in the great English tradition and as funny as heck, not the word I usually use. OK, I've blabbed long enough about books.
