Time For Me To Start Cool-Season Veggies

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

I suppose it is time to start the seeds of cool-season veggies, indoors and under lights, if I am going to have transplants that are the right size at planting time.

So, tomorrow I think I'll plant some. I'm going to plant seeds for broccoli, for sure, and maybe cauliflower and cabbage as well. I have fresh broccoli seed (Packman and Premium Crop, I think) but the cabbage and cauliflower is older seed left over from previous years and I don't remember what I have.

I'd be a lot more enthusiastic about getting seeds started if some rain--any rain--would fall. I'm pretty sure we're going to get some rain soon, because you can't go without rain forever.

If, by chance, the rain doesn't fall between now and planting time in mid-Feb. to early March, then I'll probably have more to worry about than just a few broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower plants.

Has anyone else started seeds yet?
