Marti, we have 3 1/2 acres but garden in parts. Wide open space is a challenge! Nona, lol! the pic got lost Nell! helloooo! I'm collecting wood for a stick house like yours. You could build another for sunflowers to grow thru, just not tall enough for deer dances. Patti, I think you are the one who gave me fence envy! and trivit obsession, got a bunch of them now. lol Tink is pomaranian/poodle and chihauhau, my bestest buddy.I hope we keep our little Tink as long as you had yours. I'm dealing with a new, bigger neighbor now, the other one is just about blocked out. Just got a few more gaps to fill in and I won't have to see the new building from my world. iris_gal sorry I had the wrong parentage on the SDB plicata. It is more on the violet side than the photo. Had a very small bloom in 07. Didn't bloom last year as all SDBs were replanted then. Beats me I have never used Chubby Cheeks. Shadow the icons were my first web page they were fun to make. I still use the seedling template in Database Oasis. I have changed the " My Iris" one. New one has a more better location thing. Will change the web page soon using it. Mike G Mike G

Beautiful as always, Mike. Are all the new ones on page 3? I can't tell if there are new ones in between the older ones on pages 1 & 2. My favorites on page 3 are: 09TP-64, 09TS-67, and 09TW-71. As luck would have it, all three of them seem (judged, of course, through this screen looking at a single photo) to have disproportionately small standards. Those with (seemingly) better proportion/form don't seem to have such unusual coloration. On second thought, I do like 09TM-61 and it seems to be more balanced. All said, I see something in all of them. Thank-you for sharing.

Very nice job on the website! I love the iris images. Do you have a yearly battle with the borer or have you hit on a magic potion to keep them at bay? It seems no matter how vigilant I am about keeping debris away, they are always decimating the corms.

This year I found my first borer in 6 years. Back then I sprayed with Cygon. Since then I have done a super fall and spring cleanup. Removing all dead leaves and weeds.

If I would try Merit used for lawn grub control. Put it on in late Febuary or early March plus the cleanup. It needs to be applied before the iris start spring growth.

What lovely pictures. I have a few iris in my garden, but they don't do very well. I'm going to be reading your tips and maybe I'll have some better luck.
