Janegael, I don't grow it myself - never heard of it, actually, but I did a quick google search and found this on HelpMeFind (see link below). It says it's hardy to zone 2b! Wow. Also says it's very hardy and vigorous.

Nope, I'm not related to anyone named Gael. I changed my name legally from Jane Abigail to Jane Gael years ago. I changed my last name too but have since remarried so that's a moot point. LOL

I decided to go with Full Moon Rising rather than Lunar Mist. Its color is prettier and it has a stronger scent. Its supposed to be a continuous bloomer and is a sport of Polka. It's a beauty and the one I bought was already in bloom and is stunning.

No, I didn't think gael was your last name. I just thought maybe you lived in Shelton and had a kid at the high school who played sports, and therefore your kid would be a Shelton Gael and you would be a Gael mom, lol. It's kind of an unusual word/name - no one at the school even really knows what it means, lol. I mean, it should technically mean an Irish person, I would think, but the mascot/symbol of the school is a Viking. Go figure. I always say we should really have a leprachaun, lol, but I guess that's not as tough-looking as a Viking.

Gael is from the word Gaelic and does mean Irish. My grandparents are from Galway. The Viking isn't that inaccurate as they invaded Ireland so often that there are a lot of blond blue-eyed Irish along the coast and the Vikings even took back with the Gaelic art in the form of the beautiful Celtic knotwork designs.

There are a lot of people with Irish ancestory in CT because they immigrated from Ireland and came into NY. Since they tend to have large families they spread out into the surrounding states.

I don't know about Leprechauns not being as tough as Vikings -- just ask Notre Dame and their fighting Irish mascot.

LOL, that's true! I had forgotten about Notre Dame! But still, I don't think a bunch of male high school hockey players (or any male high school athletes) want a leprechaun as their mascot, lol. I think they prefer the viking, even the Irish boys among them. The leprechaun might go over better with the female athletes, lol.

Like you I adore the apricots and have several. I have to be careful as I'm drawn to the apricots that blend in pink and yellow and would probably fill my garden with them. I deliberately made myself choose some pink roses and we have a patriotic bed (I work with Veterans) Veteran's Honor, a stunning and fragrant red and Pope John, with blue and white clematis growing up the back.

I keep telling myself I have to make myself buy a red rose, lol. I mean, it seems you can't get more classic than a red rose, and I'm sure once I have one actually in my garden, I will like it... I think, lol.

Thanks for the tip on Veteran's Honor. I'll look into that one.
