Can I plant crocus bulbs now?

I really hope someone here will know what I can do! I have suddenly (and for free!) acquired 750 crocus bulbs that would have been sold this fall, had they sold. They are firm, not at all moldy, and have been stored in an outdoor trailer since November. They seem viable, I just don't know what to do now. Should I plant right away or should I store them till the fall? If I should store them, should it be in a dark cool (but dampish) basement, or an outdoor shed or in the refrigerator? If anyone has any suggestions, I would be so grateful- it's a lovely looking bunch of crocus bulbs that I'd love to see blooming next spring! Thanks in advance,

Lexi

( I'm going to post in the Bulb forum too, I'm just hoping to be able to save them and thought a fellow New Englander might have had the same thing happen!)
