Eradicate Goat Weed, When and With What?
Comments (2)It will die back in the winter and come back in the spring. I don't run horses in my pasture but I have cattle. I have the same problem as you had. It was about 4 feet tall when I bought my property. This spring I plan on spraying the pasture with Grazon and fertilize it at the same time. It should keep the goat week under control. Also if it is mowed regulary it will keep it from getting established....See MoreEradicating milkweed...found Monarch eggs...now what do I do?
Comments (2)...I mean the "eggless/cat-less" plants. After posting this, in my urgency to get the cats into some "home," I found a link to a "raising MBs" site, and put them in a tupperware container with a wet paper towel. They seemed to have settled down (when I found them, and took the leaf off, they were all wriggly). So they're on my kitchen table at the moment, and I took some of the plants out of the pile and put them in vases. I don't know how long the MW will last in a vase; hopefully long enough for this project. There are probably 100 or more cats on this leaf. After I found them, and stopped ripping out the MW, I don't know if there's enough for all these cats. I'll probably end up taking them all over the neighborhood trying to find a new stand of MW for them to do their thing on. I don't own a fish-tank or anything to raise them completely. They'll have to go back outside. I feel like a louse....See MoreI want to eradicate the aphids not give them a wash and dry!
Comments (2)The only way to "get rid of aphids" is to kill every last one, then figure out how to stop more from floating in on a breezer. The challenge with aphids is that they don't need to mate in order to reproduce. Thus, even if only one remains after you nuke the plant, then it continues to put out more babies which typically are pregnant when they arrive. So, the answer is persistence. Hose off every several days. And while you're doing that, try to figure out why the bougie is stressed because that's why it's having problems. Beyond that, know that granular insecticide is very unlikely to keep aphids away....See MoreWhat is this weed, and how to I eradicate it?
Comments (1)Ground ivy, Glechoma hederacea. It's in the mint family so that should give some insight as to how well it can spread :-) It's not at all that hard to pull up, especially when the soil is moist, but be sure to remove all portions of the root system as best you can otherwise it will regrow....See Moreannikasmommykate
