You could certainly try. However, nost raspberries root from the tip of the stalk, so why not try arching a few stalks over and pinning them into the ground and leaving them there for some time. It may help to gently scrape away some of the bark to encourage it to make roots. When the plantlets have roots, sever them from the plant tip, which will be no worse for this experience.
