Greetings amaranthena, Sorry not to get back to you sooner but I've been pretty tied up and this kind of project takes real thought and alot of browsing for what would be the ideal plants. I have done some looking at some very overpriced plants at a New Jersey nursery/landscape business and I do hope that is not the norm for your area! The triangle area is in the 10 to 11 area say to the fence post there in the middle. The junipers would flow (think like an arching brush stroke from just behind the daylilies in the triangle then to the edge of the core 3 and wrapping around towards the opposite fence where it runs into a species magnolia (which would have to be shaped to fit) which could be planted just towards the fence side of the dead tree. I have thought of something called New Jersey Tea which i believe is a ceanothus plant but I have not had time to check it out. But this is a low grower-imagine plants hanging over the rocks on a Maine coast! I would use these or something yet to be discovered between the junipers and the fence from point 1 to point 2. Rose of sharon is a great plant. I had a single flowered one at my moms. It is a very versatile plant and you could either use it as an accent in which case I would suggest the point 5 site or buy several others and plant them as a hedge say on the outside of the fence from point 2 towards the house. They would require pruning but hold their shape well and should be quite a show! I think that is all I can do at the moment. I may not be able to get back until next week as I have lots of work to do. Marshall, I appreciate the heads up. I suppose it was bound to have happened sooner or later. I have posted quite a few pics over the last few years, and new it was a risk that someone might swipe one. I figure though, I can always go in the back yard and take another one that looks bigger and better next Spring, and its funner sharing them. Kmanzfive, the Pinus aristata 'Lemon Frost' was selected by Don Howse from porterhowse I believe. It's growing 2-4" a year for me right now. It's supposed to be frosted yellow in the Summer, but has never really colored up really well for me. It's still a favorite though because it has stayed small and I really like Pinus aristata. Thanks everybody for the kind words. I love plants and rocks- gardening in general. The bridge was inspired by my travels through England. Although my wife thinks I'm nuts when I say I'm going start a new "project". Now it's just accepted. "You go on honey and do what you have to do" kinda thing. That translates into a green light for me. Kim the pine is Pinus pumila Dwarf Blue. It is 3 feet round (1m) and 12" tall (30cm). I forget how old it is - somewhere around 8 or 9 years. The size of the plant gives you some perspective as to the size of the rock. I moved it with a friend. We dug a hole to fit the size of the rock and with a friend and a couple of big pry bars. Slowly but surely it slid into position. I packed the ground down and watered it a bit to help ease up on the friction. By far the biggest and toughest one to move. Most of the other lunkers were used mostly by pushing them into place with the bucket after I dug a hole for them. Gotta run. Have to collect a ton of Pyramidal arb wood and stick it today before the weather turns ugly again. Will post the conifer garden on Friday or Saturday. Darren

Nice! Your zone 8,right? I wish I had a lot of tropical plants like yours I could put in the ground. They are so nice! Im going to be scared about putting my new windmill and my needle in the ground next year in zone 6. It looks like yours are thriving! Do you give them any protection? Again,Very nice plants! -Hunter
