I have seedlings all over my yard of some tree. I'm sorry, I'm not an expert on trees and know nothing about properly classifying leaf types, but I will do my best to describe them, since I can't put pictures up this minute. I live in far east Tennessee near the border of Missouri, by the way. These seedlings have two distinct leaf types. One is a smooth, oval leaf that is not toothed at all and seems a little droopy and large. Most of the leaves on these seedlings look like that. The other leaf type has three lobes that are long and thin. There are only a few of these on each seedling.

The other deciduous trees on or near my property are beeches, maples, pin oaks, American persimmons, yellow poplars, sycamores, pawpaws, pecans and...others I haven't identified because I'm really not a tree expert at all.
